The Friday Cruise is how we officially kick off car show weekend—and it’s a favorite for good reason. We line up in town at the car show lot, north of the roundabout, and take the long way to Grand Marais, winding through the scenic stretch of H-58 known as the Hurricane Highway. It’s 48 miles of forest, curves, lake views, and the kind of driving that reminds you why you love your car.
This ride isn’t about speed. It’s about the journey, the stories along the way, and that satisfying feeling of cruising with fellow gearheads and community members who care about the same things—vintage steel, fresh air, and honoring those who served.
When we get to Grand Marais, you’ll have time to grab a bite and stretch your legs. Some folks cruise right back, others hang out a while. It’s all part of the laid-back spirit of the weekend.
If you’re new to the event, the Friday Cruise is a great way to jump in. If you’ve done it before, you already know—it’s one of the best parts of the whole weekend.
